100WF London Gala 2020 - Through the Maths4Girls programme, female role models from the financial services industry will speak with girls ages 11-14 in their classrooms about their careers and the importance of maths for work and as a life skill. Maths4Girls’ aim is to encourage girls to consider careers in the finance industry by making them aware of the varied opportunities and encouraging them to take maths to A’level and beyond so that these opportunities are options.

Recent articles in The Financial Times and the BBC highlight the incredible need for careers guidance by female role models to inspire girls to consider different careers. Supporting Maths4Girls could make a real difference to the number of girls pursuing advanced-level maths and entering the finance industry, and in doing so, diversifying and strengthening the talent pipeline for future leadership in our industry.

At the London Gala we also highlight female leaders in the financial industry through the 100WF EMEA Industry Leadership Award. Supporting the London Gala sends a strong signal that you value and support diversity in the industry. It also demonstrates your commitment to philanthropy and has a direct beneficial impact on girls’ educational outcomes and our industry.

A Mission to Realize our Vision:

We are fully committed to empowering women working in the finance industry to achieve their professional potential at each career stage. Our vision requires that we additionally inspire, equip and advocate for a new generation of industry leadership, in which women and men serve as investment professionals and executives, equal in achievement and impact. Through our pillars of Education, Peer Engagement and Impact, we will further the progress of women who have chosen finance as a career, and enable their positive influence over pre-career young women.

History:
100 Women was founded in 2001, when three women working at hedge funds had a novel idea: bring together 100 senior female investment professionals to better leverage their collective relationships and enhance communication within the alternatives industry. With an inaugural education event in New York City, they launched 100 Women in Hedge Funds.
