This year’s conference theme, Challenge & Change: Igniting a Metrics-Minded Approach, will be at the heart of our agenda. We all know the mantra, “If it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you.” Over the past several years, the industry has come to understand that while there is a future for active management, challenges abound, and those managers that will be successful in the future will seek opportunities to compete aggressively and imaginatively.

Measures of success like net flows and profitability are critical to any asset management business. But increasingly, firms are beginning to motivate other inputs and track new metrics – like client-centricity, culture, trust, marketing impact, and employee engagement – that will ultimately lead to sustained, long-term success and a differentiated approach to the business.
