The Forums team had a large number of conversations with investors as we began to develop the program for this year’s Redefining Fixed Income Forum, May 11-12, 2017 at Apella in New York. What was most striking was that every single investor with whom we spoke focused on their search for the fixed income strategies which can provide something to their portfolio, whether decent returns, capital protection, and/or true diversification. Those issues have long been a part of the fixed income story, of course; but they have never been this pronounced.
As a result, the theme of this year’s Redefining Fixed Income Forum is exactly that: Finding the Opportunities in Fixed Income. This year’s Redefining Fixed Income Forum will explore the varied ways that institutional investors (pension funds, endowments, foundations, and insurance funds) are making changes — or the reasons why they are not — to their fixed income portfolios
