The global economy has been experiencing its first taste of synchronized growth since the global financial crisis, and the Fed and other central banks have started to normalize monetary policy. Yet uncertainties abound, as the U.S. is injecting a sizable amount of fiscal stimulus with the economy close to full employment, and traditional alliances on trade are breaking down. Designed around the theme of "Revolution or Evolution? Reexamining Economic Paradigms," the 2018 NABE Annual Meeting will address these and other emerging developments including A.I. and the future of work, shifting global demographics, persistently-sluggish productivity growth, the increasing concentration within key business sectors, and the new analytical tools and data sources at the disposal of economists.
