Despite a tumultuous past year, agriculture has seen some bright areas that provide some optimism for farmers and lenders alike. We are in the midst of a transition period and a global pandemic that has seen the agricultural value chain respond at a rapid pace. Farmers and bankers need to have a plan to navigate the volatile commodity prices, increasing government payments, and increasing regulation on the agricultural sector.
Hear from experts about the latest news on the agricultural economy, credit outlook, commodity outlook, agricultural policy, carbon markets, recruiting the next generation of agricultural bankers, farm succession, and selling to your farmer customer.
This conference is designed to help attendees prepare for the 2021-2022 loan renewal season. On the morning of day 1, we will hear from Dr. David Kohl on the topics of the Mega Trends affecting agriculture for the next decade and his take on credit risks affecting farmers that bankers need to know about. Then we will hear from on what to expect for the commodity and farm income outlook. Day 1 ends with , an economist at the American Farm Bureau, giving an update on the latest policy initiatives that will affect agriculture, including a session on what the carbon bank may look like and how it will affect farmers.
The second day begins with a presentation on recruiting the next generation of talent to agricultural lending. Next, we will hear from Dr. Maria Marshall on how to navigate farm succession planning to ensure a smooth transition from one generation to the next. We end the second day with an interactive workshop on selling and marketing to help you better reach your farmer customers.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND;
Agricultural bankers with a strong desire to further their knowledge of financial analysis, commodity marketing, and risk management. This program is specifically targets toward graduates of the Midwest Agricultural Banking Schools or similar programs with a minimum of three years of agricultural lending experience.
