Our annual tax update aims to inform market participants operating in the alternative fund sector of recent changes in the tax environment which may impact them. We anticipate addressing several key emerging topics which will be relevant for the 2018/2019 session. The provisions of the Anti-Tax Avoidance Directive of the European Union (EU) must be implemented in the domestic tax legislation of the EU member states by 1 January 2018. Significant changes are expected in certain jurisdictions, especially the implementation of an EU-wide General Anti-Abuse Rule.
