The insurance-linked securities (ILS) market represents a growing asset class of investors accessing the returns of insurance and reinsurance risk, through instruments such as catastrophe bonds, collateralised reinsurance, ILS funds and sidecars.
As the ILS asset class grows it looks to expand its reach, both in terms of the risks underwritten and invested in, as well as by increasing the investor base. Asia is a natural expansion, as ILS players and markets look to access new cedents and capital sources.
We're holding our annual ILS conference for the Asia regon in Singapore, as a central transport hub with an active reinsurance market and capital market investor community.
For 2018 will build on the success of last year's event, returning to Singapore to bring a wealth of ILS market experience and knowledge to interact and connect with the Asian and surrounding markets.
This year we are looking to go deeper, investigating the ILS sector at a more detailed level and deepening the connections made at our events.
