Forum gathers insurance investors from across the region for interactive and educational sessions covering the key investment challenges facing insurers in the current market environment.
The Asian region holds the key to the global insurance industry’s future. It is home to nearly one-third of the world’s population, a few of the fastest-growing economies and multiple countries with rapidly expanding middle-class populations.
As the pool of investable premiums continues to grow, robust investment portfolios remain critical for future growth. This Virtual Forum will assess the difficult issues around measuring and modelling long-term assets and liabilities where loose monetary policy has squeezed both yield curves and volatility. It will also introduce ways of managing risk, whether it be the risk of inflation (and higher interest rates), deflation, or hedging tail risks.
While capital charges often restrict the breadth of investable assets that insurers can utilise, new strategies and approaches can be leveraged to access the full suite of equity and interest-bearing instruments.
Speakers include CIOs from regional and global insurance firms, in addition to various international insurance investment specialists.
All discussions at the Virtual Forum are governed by Chatham House Rule. The event is closed to media and by invitation only to senior fund decision-makers. This ensures open and productive discussions with an effective exchange of ideas amongst peers.
