The overarching theme of the 5th Annual CEATI Asset Management Conference is “Confronting Present and Future Risk and Challenges.” Asset management is based upon consistent organizational processes enabling an organization to make the right investment decisions to realize value while managing risk and opportunity. For many utilities, the pandemic has highlighted the need for asset management to support changes in investment planning in order to manage risk, as well as the need to prepare for the future. Other challenges – such as climate change, alternate technology development, and alternative industry paradigms – loom on the horizon, in the face of the growing investment requirements for aging utility assets. Not only will asset condition be stressed, but so will the larger organizational response. Utilities must utilize asset
management to confront changes in risk due to these challenges, ensure they continue to realize value from their assets, and make the right investment decisions.
The conference will focus on utility experiences, showing how asset management response can be shifted from reactive to leading edge. The conference will bring together Executives, subject matter experts, and Asset Management Professionals from generation, transmission, and distribution to discuss asset management programs and industry progress. The conference format is designed to guide utilities in the right direction, with the right tools, support, and guidance of their peers and industry. Presentations and themes were selected to help those just starting out, as well as those well along the road and looking for the best ways to improve their performance and readiness for current – and future – risk.
