The commercial management skillset and function is not common or consistent across ANZ. We have seen a number of major building contractors struggle recently. Macro-economic and geo-political issues ensure that the delivery of major construction projects remains a real challenge. Professional management of contracts and risk in construction are critical to project success. With these factors in mind RICS is well placed to deliver our second conference aimed at the commercial management of construction space.

A diverse range of panelists and attendees will join from across Australia and New Zealand to share their expertise and experiences; they will be participating in discussions that dive into the issues that are impacting and being managed across the ANZ region by commercial teams as they strive to deliver successful construction project outcomes.

Takeaways:
• Face-to-face networking opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience.
• Practical insights from expert speakers on how to manage the day-to-day risks.
• Updates on all current aspects relating to the commercial management including news guidance, and standards.

Highlight:
• The predicted economic slowdown and the impact on the commercial management.
• Cost escalation – a common issue facing the construction projects. How should cost be managed fairly between client and contractor?
• Overcoming the latest challenges around avoiding claims in administering the contract, including delay and disruption, global claims, preparing for a dispute, and superintendents' impartiality.
• How far is Artificial Intelligence being applied to the commercial management of construction, and what does the future hold?
