Massachusetts real estate attorneys are frequently engaged as local counsel on commercial loan transactions. Although the scope of engagement may initially seem limited, these types of transactions often put the Massachusetts practitioner in the hot seat in terms of addressing specific, tailored questions concerning Massachusetts practice and law, including issues that may often be ignored on deals featuring only Massachusetts attorneys and clients. This program will provide a “cheat sheet” identifying a list of the types of issues that frequently arise in these situations, from drafting conventions to enforceability opinions to title insurance requirements.
