•During New York Blockchain week, the team at Hydrogen behind the Hydro blockchain will be hosting a Shark Tank style event, blockchain edition! Developers are invited to come pitch their DApp project!
•The Hydro team will be deploying a decentralized consensus vote using a smart contract, instead of having centralized judges. We will show the audience how this will work using blockchain technology in action!
•You will be judged by the following criteria:
1. Quality of your 3-minute pitch
2. The relevance of the problem you are attempting to solve
3. How effective you are at utilizing Blockchain to solve the problem
4. Potential adoption
For the app to qualify as a DApp it must meet the following criteria:
1. Rely at least in part on sending transactions to, or reading data from, a live blockchain
2. Be achievable given the current state of blockchain technology
3. Attempt to provide a decentralized solution to a problem that has typically required trust in centralized actors
4. Not be a copycat of an existing DApp, protocol, or whitepaper
•It is a huge plus if there is an existing working prototype or live version of your DApp. If not, we will be opening the Hydrogen office to dev teams starting at 12PM on the day of the event. This will be a hackathon-style half-day session where the devs can use the Hydrogen API and other partner technologies to develop their application.
•There will be up to 10 live projects, and 10 incubated projects presenting during the competition.
•We had so many people RSVP that we moved the venue from the Hydrogen office to the larger GA auditorium across the street!
Winner(s) will be awarded a huge prize! (Cash, services, and/or tokens!)
*Free pizza and beer*
•If you are interested in learning how to build a DApp, Blockmatics is hosting an awesome Create your own DApp event on May 13th! In this course, you'll learn how to code using the programming language Solidity and create your own decentralized application. The lead instructors will be Solomon Lederer, Ph.D. and Kishore Bhatia. After you learn from the best, come join our hackathon to finish the app or register to compete directly in Block Tank!
