The cities have the potential to become an important part of the solution and therefore it is crucial that we do not continue 'business as usual' when we plan and develop the cities of the future for people. We have the necessary knowledge about what the planet needs and we know about people's physical, social and mental needs. How we can reconcile these needs must be thought about every time we develop districts, build new ones and renovate existing buildings. That is why Building Green Aarhus focuses on how we can transform our cities to the benefit of people and the planet.
At this event, you will learn more about what problems nature and the climate are affected by and what role cities can play in making a difference. You will focus on how we reconcile the need to create cities for the benefit of people and the planet. You will be inspired by speakers from Denmark and abroad with great insight into urban development and knowledge of more sustainable proposals for materials for construction. You also hear about urban development for people, where there is a good balance between the shared and private spaces and the materials used to build new and transform existing buildings.
In this events you will focus on the theme 'Life-giving cities and architecture'. We continue to look towards the regenerative approach to construction, and you learn how cities can be life-giving and give back more life than they take. You will focus on life in and around our cities, healthy cities that do not burden the climate and health and cities that are good to live in. You will also focus on recycling, transformation and renovation of buildings in the cities.
