Ensuring we maintain strong relationships with our correspondent banks is crucial to the ability of individuals and companies to transact internationally and for jurisdictions to remain part of the global financial network. The retention, maintenance & development of Correspondent relationships is becoming increasingly difficult for all, but especially for smaller jurisdictions such as Malta, as the major banks continue to evaluate and mitigate their risks with de-risking programmes and tougher due diligence reviews of respondent relationships to meet increased regulatory obligations and expectations. The primary aims of this seminar is to help delegates understand the risks associated with a correspondent relationship, from both sides, and to help in managing relationships held with non-Maltese based banks as well as with other international providers facilitating cross border wires. We will look at how to interpret their requirements, answer their questions and understand their expectations and responding appropriately.
