The new European directive on cyber security will come into force next year. It will also affect companies that are not directly affected - increasing attacks on supply chains create pressure for higher security of smaller suppliers connected to the affected organizations, and the demand for cyber security managers creates an even greater scramble for specialists that are already in short supply.
Why are cybersecurity guidelines important to everyone? Because they provide the framework and guidelines for how to move with IT security in the organization. It turns out that the majority of incidents are still caused by beginner's and human errors: very weak passwords, neglected configurations, clicking on suspicious links and super-profitable ransomware that just won't go away.
