In December 2018 more than 80 Dutch Pension Funds in the Netherlands, jointly signed the Dutch Pension Funds Agreement on Responsible Investment.
The agreement is the result of a multi-stakeholder dialog promoted by the Dutch government and the Dutch House of Representatives and involving civil society, trade unions, NGOs and financial markets participants. Signatories of the Agreement have committed to identify, prioritize and address ESG risks that might have an actual adverse or potential adverse impact in the environment and society using as the main framework the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises and the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and supported by the OECD guidance “Responsible business conduct for institutional investors”.
