The World Economic Forum predicts that 10% of the global gross domestic product (approximately DKK 50 trillion) will be on the blockchain in less than 10 years.
The conference is aimed at employees in the financial industry, ie. banks, accountants, lawyers, stockbrokers, etc. The purpose of the conference is to inform and inspire participants about new opportunities with blockchain technology and especially about securities and assets on blockchain.
Companies can now issue securities on the blockchain with properties such as either shares or bonds to raise capital (via an STO - a "security token offering") as an alternative to an IPO. Large established companies can raise capital in this way - or "tokenize" their existing shares. When securities and assets are transferred to blockchain (and “tokenized”), there will be benefits for both issuers and investors such as more efficient pricing, increased liquidity, 24 hour trading time, increased process automation, reduced settlement delays, etc. In the near future, real estate and other investment portfolios will move to blockchain for the same reasons. Art collections, cars, ships, etc. can also be moved on the blockchain to fragment ownership and other rights.
The financial revolution has already begun and the existing financial ecosystem will move towards blockchain over the next 10 years.
