FT Innovative Sustainable Financing will gather bankers, policy makers, investors, influencers and advisors to discuss the next steps in harnessing the potential of green finance.

Sustainable and impact investing are soaring into the mainstream, driven by the priorities of millennial investors, the Paris Agreement on Climate Change and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. At the start of 2016, global sustainable investment assets reached $22.89 trillion, a 25% increase from 2014. Europe accounts for over half of these assets (53%), as reported by the Global Sustainable Investment Alliance (GSIA).

Embracing this investment appetite creates opportunities worth trillions of dollars for European banks in coming years. Financial institutions have a critical role not only in funding the transformation of energy, transport, cities, agriculture and more, but also in supporting investors by creating opportunity and access to these markets with the design of attractive, sustainable products and structures.

FT Innovative Sustainable Financing will gather bankers, policy makers, investors, influencers and advisors to discuss the next steps in harnessing the potential of green finance. Expert speakers will explore new approaches to build sustainability into their investor portfolios and discuss how the market could advance following proposals by the EU’s High Level Expert Group on Sustainable Finance to make a green adjustment to minimum capital requirements. The agenda will also look at the evolution of green bonds and ESG indexes, examining how they are contributing to changing investor behaviour and discover the key challenges and opportunities considered by investors with asset allocation.
