The symposium with the theme “Challenges and Opportunities for DFIs in a Changing World” is intended to provide an avenue for various stakeholders of DFIs, which include government officials, regulators, DFIs, academia and researchers; to share, learn as well as exchanging of ideas on the global trends, current and future outlook, best practices & regulations, innovations and contemporary issues surrounding the development finance ecosystem.
The following are the broad objectives of the symposium:
Facilitate broader understanding of DFIs via an overview of the growth of DFIs from the past to present time, share views on the current global trends, identify challenges and the future outlook of development finance following the widespread use of innovative technology in financial sector.
Showcase successful cases of DFIs on how evolution and transformation can scale up the role of DFIs.
Promote best practices on structure, governance, regulation & supervision, risk management as well as innovative products & social financing for a sustainable business models for DFIs
Serve as a nexus amongst the stakeholders in the development finance domain to match and/or exchange technical needs and expertise.
