If there’s one thing we learned at OWS19 this past February, it’s that governance in the digital era must be designed to ensure effective and efficient controls while supporting agile development and identifying opportunities. It has become a cliché to say that we live in a data driven world. Data has become the beating heart of enterprises from Nike to Novartis, as they transform their business and its functions impacting everything from manufacturing to marketing. While the customer, is still flesh and bone, everything else is, or will be, digital.
While the digital world ushers in a new era of problem-solving as well as seemingly unlimited opportunity; it also raises new risks, from cyber-security threats through to compliance failures and organizational silos, and with this, the challenge of governing the design and use of technology and third-party partners becomes more acute.
