The pressure from investors on firms to demonstrate a serious commitment to ESG is mounting, even more so recently in the wake of the latest IPCC report; indeed, the UK government is now working towards reducing carbon emissions in 2030 by at least 68%. This goal, together with the societal movement towards greater diversity and inclusion in the workplace, means that the adoption of ESG initiatives has never been more imperative.
Funds must be proactive rather than reactive in order to ensure they stay ahead of the curve when it comes to investor appetite. Therefore, HFM is creating a space for European hedge fund leaders to come together to discuss, share and debate the best ways to integrate ESG both into the investment process and on a corporate level.
The Summit content has been shaped by the industry, focusing on specific areas of ESG as well as regulatory updates and government initiatives. From how to champion ESG within alternative investments and deep-diving into combatting climate change, to how funds can demonstrate a strong ESG commitment to investors, we will explore all the things most crucial in the industry as ESG continues to grow.
The event will host a range of session formats, including presentations, panels and intimate roundtables. We are delighted that the Summit will be taking place in person at the Barbican, which has a range of social and sustainable initiatives and commitments, including championing a huge reduction in the use of single-use plastics, the use of 100% renewable energy and free electric vehicle charging points around site.
