We’ve been talking about new IFRSs on financial instruments, revenue and leases for several years now. But it’s almost time for the talking to stop as the new standards finally become effective in 2018 and 2019. With the final countdown to implementing IFRS 9, 15 and 16 now well and truly underway, this year’s conference will look at the challenges that come with applying them and the lessons learned from those who have already made progress towards putting theory into practice.
There’s also a new kid on the block in the shape of the new insurance contracts standard. And you may be surprised to discover that it isn’t just insurers who’ll be affected by its requirements. Moreover, the IASB’s busy work plan and research programme means we can expect more new and revised standards in the years ahead.
