Impact Investing is trendy. Some in the mainstream investment industry are waking up to investors’ demands for a social/environmental return as well as a financial one. Doubters suggest that Impact Investing is merely a “fad” that will never last – they suggest it cannot scale and will remain “niche”.
Is this true? Can impact investing really scale? Is it possible to invest a material amount of money and get a social/environmental return as well as a financial one?
Put another way, can Impact Investing become “mainstream” or will it always be a “niche”?
