The Foundations for Evidence-Based Policymaking Act of 2018 (Evidence Act) provides a statutory framework and various requirements for federal agencies to improve data generation and use for decision-making – including the establishment of CDOs.
The Data Foundation, in collaboration with Deloitte, conducted the fourth annual Federal Chief Data Officers Survey in the fall of 2023. Survey findings provide insight into the evolving role of the Chief Data Officer since the Evidence Act, including factors enabling and hindering CDO missions. Featuring report authors and Chief Data Officers, the conversation will focus on key findings and recommendations from the report, including themes related to becoming a data-driven organization, strengthening the CDO community, and leveraging innovative technology to support mission success.
