Patient Safety 5th Global Ministerial Summit 2020 - Patient safety is a major public health concern. According to the World Health Organization, patient harm is the 14th leading cause of the global disease burden. As no country is spared, international cooperation is crucial to finding effective and sustainable solutions to this problem.

Since their inception in 2016, the Global Ministerial Summits on Patient Safety have been successful in creating and sustaining constructive momentum around these issues. It is now important to continue these efforts. Switzerland is honored to host this 5th edition, which will focus on concrete measures to improve patient safety.

The participation of so many experts, political decision-makers and representatives of international organizations is invaluable. By sharing their experiences and best practices, they are contributing to improving the quality of care worldwide.

I look forward to welcoming you in great numbers to Montreux and wish you two days of enriching exchanges.
