The European Union’s top AI experts presented last June a list of 33 recommendations on how to boost a European AI industry. They advise against a one-size-fits-all approach for AI regulation, but call for a review of the bloc’s existing rules, as well as for defining “red lines” and discussing the potential ban of high-risk AI applications “with affected stakeholders.”
These recommendations, together with the European Commission’s AI ethics guidelines published in April, will impact AI regulations for the years to come. Still, the EU is asking companies, public institutions and researchers for feedback.
Join POLITICO’s AI Summit and contribute to the upcoming developments and implementation of AI in Europe. We are gathering the brightest AI global leaders for a two-day program entirely dedicated to issues at the intersection of innovation and governance. This unmissable meeting, in its 3rd edition, will gather policymakers, scientists, innovators, industry representatives, startups and academics, whose contributions will shape the future of AI.
