The capital function has been hit hard by the wave of regulatory change in the wake of the financial crisis and with Basel IV on the horizon, this shows no sign of slowing down. At the same time, however, firms are facing practical challenges around data, regulatory reporting, and optimising products for ‘capital hungry’ environment. With numerous competing priorities, it is no surprise that the capital function is feeling the heat. In light of this, banks are looking to rethink their capital strategies to meet the regulatory requirements whilst also ensuring growing margins for the business.
Attending this marcus evans conference will give capital managers an opportunity to compare interpretations of capital regulations whilst better understanding what the final shape of Basel IV will ultimately take. Delegates will be able to see practical examples of capital strategies in order to achieve a high return of equity through RWA-efficiency and balance sheet optimisation, while also building strong data and IT infrastructures to cope with regulatory reporting. They will also learn how different banks across the APAC region allocate their capital, in ways that best suit their banks.
