The landscape for a pensions Trustee is still changing rapidly and doesn't look to slow anytime soon. New Master Trust legislation and the rising question of DB consolidation means we could be looking at a much smaller market in the future. There is also now greater pressure on Trustee boards after high profile cases in the media have questioned the competency of Trustees and also their effectiveness. With around 25% of Trustee boards having female representatives the industry still has a lot to do to build its reputation and encourage a more diverse community. Communication is still a key problem for pension schemes and with the DC market consistently growing the most effective way of communicating pension freedoms is still a challenge.
