Access to financial services for poor households provide an opportunity to increase incomes, build assets, and reduce their vulnerability to risks. Approaches taken for those risks are mostly through traditional insurance or governmental programs.
However, for those that are at the bottom of the pyramid, they are not adequate and varied approaches such as microinsurance is required to have measurable impact. This course will highlight appropriate microinsurance initiatives that could be applied for the poor households.
