Development innovations and market strategy for Southwest Florida’s fast-growing, master-planned community, Babcock Ranch, will be presented. Lucienne Pears, Vice President of Economic and Business Development for Babcock Ranch, will explain the innovative approach to “town making” and offer insight on the development and marketing process.
Construction activity is bustling at Babcock Ranch, including commercial projects, a range of residential products, and community facilities. The new town on the border of the Lee and Charlotte County line will have as many as 19,500 homes and 50,000 residents when it’s built out. The 17,800-acre community is surrounded by 73,000 acres that the state acquired for conservation. Babcock Ranch is a leader in applying new technologies and is recognized as America’s first town to be driven by solar energy. Following her presentation, Ms. Pears will respond to questions of specific interest to the real estate investment and development industry.
With a degree in Urban and Regional Planning, Lucienne Pears has worked in environmental planning and conservation, land use entitlement, construction and development projects, and economic development. Prior to Babcock Ranch, Ms. Pears served as director of Charlotte County Economic Development.
