2020 was a year like no other. It was also pivotal for trends and thematic investing. The Covid-19 crisis accelerated trends such as digitalization and healthy living, and refocused others such as food delivery and working from home. Meanwhile, long-term megatrends such as tackling global warming through decarbonization remained at the front of investors’ minds. Will today’s trends be around tomorrow? Will we see other stocks or sectors emerge? And will value stocks return with a vengeance? All of these questions will be discussed in our latest Digital Explore event, ‘Trends: here today, here tomorrow’.

This event will be an occasion for Fabiana Fedeli, Robeco’s Global Head of Fundamental Equities, to explain why the skewness of equity returns supports a trends-based investment approach. Keynote speaker and leading global voice on climate change, Dr. Gabrielle Walker, will then talk about her work to help achieve the transition to a zero-carbon economy.

Robeco’s smart energy and sustainability experts, Thiemo Lang and Lucian Pepplenbos, will also share their insights on the energy transformation needed to tackle climate risk. Trends specialist, Jack Neele, will then explain the consequences of consumers’ increased focus on health and wellness issues. Finally, Jack will hold a discussion with Asia-Pacific expert Arnout van Rijn on the value versus growth debate.
