This Conference provides an immersive and high-value platform for UK public servants to engage and improve transformation and digital adoption across the UK. We are proud to showcase both national policy updates and local level best practice from councils across the country.

Back in 2019 the UK Industrial Strategy set out the Government’s ambition to make the UK the most innovative economy in the world and place us at the forefront of the technologies of the future.

It’s not just the UK that has seen rapid investment in tech, the world is currently experiencing a period of rapid technological change that has been called ‘the fourth industrial revolution’. New technologies are being developed which will fundamentally reshape government workforces and change how government makes policy and delivers public services.

The 2021 Government trend deck highlighted the 10 key areas of expected investment and growth, these areas are:

• Internet use is increasing globally but significant numbers still do not use the internet in the UK
• Increase in government digital services
• Growth in digital identities to streamline services and combat fraud in the UK
• The growing number of Internet of Things connected devices in the UK
• Increase in the number of wearable devices
• The recent decline in fact-checking of online content by UK internet users
• Digital technologies could reshape the UK healthcare workforce
• The private sector is becoming more involved in space technology
• Artificial Intelligence could make a significant contribution to the UK economy
• Significant increase in global science and technology research and development expenditure
