In a global setting dominated by geopolitical upheaval, energy and supply-chain crises, and the aftermath of the covid-19 pandemic, Cyprus is carrying out a significant effort to strengthen its economy and expand co-operation in the fragile eastern Mediterranean region. The small but extrovert Cypriot economy has shown resilience to the above-mentioned crises and is among the top economies worldwide in terms of post-pandemic foreign direct investment (FDI) recovery. On the other hand, the country still faces challenges such as the need to reduce its reliance on the volatile international financial markets, encourage innovation and diversify its growth model.
This year’s annual event is extremely timely as the newly elected Cypriot Ministers will have the opportunity to present their government’s new priorities to attract foreign investment in the areas of energy, finance, technology, innovation and real estate.
