The Euromoney/ECBC Asian Covered Bond Forum will return to Singapore on Tuesday 6 February 2018. This standout event is the leading regional meeting of the covered bond community with over 150 issuers, investors and financial intermediaries from all over the globe in attendance.

We are expecting many changes in the covered bond market before the Forum in February and going into 2018. By February the awaited proposal for covered bond framework set out by the European Union will have been released, with this in mind the prospects for mutual recognition of covered bonds regimes may have progressed which would make Asian covered bonds more attractive for European Investors. Within Asia there are many new jurisdictions working to put in place their own covered bond market. With so much to consider The Euromoney/ECBC Asian Covered Bond Forum will be the ideal meeting point for issuers, investors, rating agencies, intermediaries and regulators to discuss the ever-changing covered bond market.

The event will discuss the global changes including the implications they hold for Singapore. Participants will debate whether the rebirth of securitisation complements or is an alternative to covered bonds and the implications of this for issuers and investors. The fundamental shift in European covered bonds will be examined by looking at the problems and the ECB update. A special session about investing in Asian covered bonds will be deliberated with an outsider’s point of view. Finally we will look to the future, debating which countries will come into the market in 2018 and lessons we can learn from abroad.
