Back for our third successful year, our all-inclusive OCIO conference will address the ‘why’ and the ‘how’ of the model and will share best practices on how to implement, evaluate, benchmark and evolve for the best outcomes.
The Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) market continues to be one of the most robust areas of growth in the investment management industry. In a year of chaos, many came to truly appreciate the added benefit and expertise of their OCIO to effectively manage through the storm and allow them more time to focus on other priorities. The interest in an OCIO partnership has not slowed down and assets are expected to total $1.7 trillion by 2023. Proof positive that the OCIO market remains healthy.

As a result of the growing choices and popularity, many asset owners are now dipping their toes in the water while experienced OCIO clients are beginning or continuing to review their current partnerships to ensure that they have the right fit for their needs. They and others will be evaluating the OCIO model and how to most effectively utilize it across various types of business models and strategies.

An area that continues to expand is the number of new OCIO participants with corporate DB plans. Many sponsors are looking to outsourcing as they wind down their plans and go into LDI mode or sell off pieces of their DB plans in pension buyouts.

Back for our third successful year, our all-inclusive OCIO conference will address the ‘why’ and the ‘how’ of the model and will share best practices on how to implement, evaluate, benchmark and evolve for the best outcomes.

Some of the key practical areas that we will address include:
• Where do you start? How to begin the OCIO process.
• Evaluating and measuring new and existing OCIO providers
• Exploring models both partial and full discretionary
• Investment manager due diligence & selection
• Fiduciary Responsibility and determining who does what
• Measuring and reporting portfolio performance
• Investment fee negotiation and options - sliding, asset-based fees vs. performance-based fees
