Interest rates are low in a historical perspective, even if rates have increased somewhat recently. But what will happen from here? Will rates remain low, because of continued savings pressures and expansionary monetary policies, or will rates increase because global demographics change and rates normalize? This one-day conference will present recent academic research and discuss implications of low interest rates for pension funds and fiscal policies. Focus will be on the long run, i.e. what might happen to rates over the coming decades. Presentations and panel talks will be given by international academics and practitioners.
