Bolden is a premium black-owned skincare line created by sister-in-laws Chinelo Chidozie and Ndidi Obidoa to embolden black and brown women to confidently embrace their natural beauty.

The founders met as girls at school in Nigeria, but lost touch over the years. A chance encounter in New York years later would lead them on a long journey to not only becoming business partners, but eventually marrying brothers and becoming family. The idea for Bolden would be born during a family vacation in Key West, where they found it nearly impossible to find a sunscreen that worked for their darker skin tones. Their hunt for the “right” product led them to start brainstorming about creating their own. They would go on to take a leap of faith and leave their post-MBA corporate Biotech and Finance jobs in NYC to start Bolden.

Chinelo & Ndidi are lifelong beauty enthusiasts and curious observers of beauty rituals of women around the world. They recognized the huge need for highly effective and clinically proven products that address the unique skincare needs of women of color, and created an affordable, vegan & cruelty-free skincare line backed by science for melanin-rich skin.

Bolden’s product range includes a line of 100% natural Shea Butter Oils ethically sourced from a women’s co-op in Burkina Faso. These shea oils, known for their multitude of skin healing properties, pay homage to their West African heritage and tackle the #1 skin concern of WOC - hyperpigmentation. The brand is also home to the influencer cult favorite SPF 30 Brightening Moisturizer, long championed by the likes of beauty guru Jackie Aina, and actress Yvonne Orji.
