Chris Wysopal is founder and chief technology officer at Veracode. He is the foremost industry leader in application security testing. In 1998, Chris, then known by his hacker pseudonym “Weld Pond” was one of the seven members of the famed hacker group L0pht called to testify before the U.S. Senate on cybersecurity, specifically that insecure software posed a threat to the nation and that companies needed to be accountable. In 2003, he testified before a U.S. House of Representatives subcommittee on the topic of vulnerability research and disclosure.
Prior to co-founding Veracode in 2006, Chris was vice president of research and development at security consultancy @stake, which was acquired by Symantec.
