Cassandra is a polished leader with commanding presence, exceptional intellectual vision and judgement, who listens well and communicates persuasively. Her passion about culturally sustaining educator preparation reform fuels my work. Prior to BranchED, Cassandra served as the Dean of the School of Education and Human Development at Hampton University for nearly 10 years. She have demonstrated leadership ability to bring parties together and build consensus and work with diverse constituencies within an institution and in the surrounding community. Cassandra have a recognized commitment to diversity with demonstrated ability to lead at an institution that values and respects differences.
Minority-serving institutions confer more than one-third of all undergraduate education degrees received by Black, Asian American, and American Indian/Alaskan Native students—and more than half of the education degrees received by Hispanic students.
