Dr. David Brumley is CEO and co-founder of ForAllSecure, and a full professor at Carnegie Mellon University in CS and ECE. Dr. Brumley received his PhD in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University, MS in Computer Science from Stanford University, and a BA in Mathematics from the University of Northern Colorado. Dr. Brumley previously was the Director of CyLab, the CMU Security and Privacy Institute.
Brumley's honors include a United States Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE) from President Obama, a Sloan Foundation award, a Carnegie Science Award, 4 patents, and numerous best paper awards from tier-1 peer reviewed publication venues.
Dr. Brumley is also advisor and a founding member of PPP, one of the world's most elite competitive hacking teams. PPP is currently ranked #1 in the US, has won the most DEFCON “Capture the Flag” hacking challenges of any team, as well as other NSA and DoD competitions. Dr. Brumley also runs picoctf.com, a high school hacking competition used by over 65,000 people that is designed to promote computer security as a career choice.
