Jennifer Thompson is a social worker, advocate and champion for both social workers and the clients they serve on a daily basis. She is an internationally sought after speaker on topics such as immigration, racial and social justice, mental health and more. Ms. Thompson has over twenty years experience in the public and nonprofit sector, having served as a senior advisor to Mayor Michael Bloomberg of New York City on issues such as transportation, housing, homeless services, community affairs and more. Ms. Thompson developed innovative programs for young breast cancer survivors at Sharsheret, a nonprofit organization championed by the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and led advocacy around leadership development for young girls as the the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer for Girls Scouts.

As the Executive Director of the New Jersey and Delaware chapters of the National Association of Social Workers, Jennifer leads the profession, pushing the boundaries of what social workers do, how the broader community understands the work of social workers and championing progressive legislation such as the legalization of recreational marijuana, reparations and more.
