Katie graduated with a Masters degree in Audiology from the University of Western Ontario in 2008. Upon graduating, she began providing hearing healthcare as an Audiologist at various HearingLife clinics in the Waterloo Region until settling at the Cambridge HearingLife clinic, where she helped her clients experience better hearing for over 13 years. In November 2010, Katie joined the Part-Time Regional Manager team and transitioned to the Full-Time Regional Manager team in January 2021. In June 2022, Katie joined the Corporate Audiology team as Audiology Coordinator, and later as Senior Manager, Audiology. In addition to her time at HearingLife, Katie has worked as a Part-time Professor at Conestoga College in the Hearing Instrument Specialist program since 2019, delivering both the Clinical Principals 1 and 2 courses. Katie is passionate about providing gold standard hearing healthcare, using evidence-based practice and client centred care to help improve the quality of life of those with hearing loss.
In most cases, hearing loss happens gradually but over time, it can add up to very severe hearing loss. On average, it takes seven to 10 years from when someone first starts noticing some difficulty to get a hearing test and address their hearing loss.
