With nearly 30 years of experience leading and running YMCAs, Sheryl moved to South Florida in 2005 and became Chief Operating Officer for the YMCA of Broward County. She was then appointed as the new President and CEO of the YMCA of Broward County in 2007. In 2015, the YMCA of Broward County and the YMCA of Greater Miami merged and became the YMCA of South Florida. Sheryl was appointed President and CEO of the newly formed YMCA, which would service Broward, Miami-Dade and Monroe counties.

Sheryl’s vision for the combined YMCAs is to seek out community partnerships for the expansion of quality facilities, programs, and services to improve the reach in South Florida. She is focused on developing a stronger volunteer and staff base to serve both communities with even more life-changing programs and nearly doubling the impact.

Sheryl was born and raised in Ohio and attended the University of Idaho where she completed her Bachelor's and Masters's Degree in Education. Her previous professional experience includes faculty at the University of Oklahoma, and various roles with the Greater Oklahoma City YMCA and the YMCA of Central Florida, which included Senior Vice President of Operations and District Executive Director supervising multiple centers, opening new YMCAs and developing strong partnerships in an effort to expand community services. Sheryl enjoys playing golf, attending sporting events, cruises, and traveling around the US.
