The 2023 Excellence in Health Care Awards recognize the top men and women in the WNY health care industry. This program is hosted by Buffalo Business First.

These winners can be physicians, nurses, administrators, board members, advocates or researchers whose work has improved the way the health system works in WNY hospitals, labs, clinics, nonprofits and health facilities.

These are some examples of the people who should be nominated
Advocates: For the developmentally disabled, behavioral health, mentally ill, addictions services
Allied health professionals: Physical therapist, occupational therapist, nutritionist
Care coordinators
Community outreach: An individual who has developed a program that improved access to, and the quality of, medical service in an underserved area
Dentist: dentists and all oral health care professionals
Elder care professionals: A doctor, nurse, social worker or anyone involved in elder care who shows exemplary performance in his or her field.
Health care administrators
Health care executives
Health care innovators: Individual who has made a breakthrough in medical technology, research or delivery.
Health care researchers: Individual who has made a breakthrough in medical technology, research or delivery.
Medical professionals: Physician's assistant, hospitalist, nurse midwife etc.
Nonprofit executives
Nurses: R.N., LPN., nurse practioner
Pharmacists
Practice managers
Support services executives: Individuals associated with any industry including but not limited to legal, accounting, banking, non-profit, construction and general contracting.
Surgeons
Technology experts in health care
Veterinarians
Volunteers -- Individual for service to a health-related effort or organization.
