Speakers

Dave Adams
Dave is the CEO of the Michigan Credit Union League and president/CEO of CU Solutions Group. He has held numerous board seats with companies like Magic Line, Inc. and NYCE Corporation, both regional ATM companies, and has served on both former Governor Jennifer Granholm’s Council of Economic Advisors, as well as current Governor Rick Snyder's Council of Labor and Economic Growth. He previously served as president and CEO of the Washington Credit Union League and LSI, Inc. A native of Utah, he holds a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Utah and a master's in business administration from Utah State University.

Bridget Baleskey
Bridget is a vice president of Brick & Associates, an asset-liability management and strategic planning firm that consults over 600 credit unions nationwide. She is also a vice president of Brick Capital Management, a registered investment advisor for credit unions. She received a bachelor's of arts degree in financial administration from Michigan State University and has been with Brick Associates since 1989.

Jeff Brick
Jeff is president of Brick Capital Management, an investment advisory firm for credit unions. He is also a vice president of Brick & Associates, an asset-liability management consulting firm for credit unions located in East Lansing. Jeff has been with the companies for 22 years. He earned a bachelor's of science degree with a major in financial management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Celeste Cook
Celeste is founder and president/CEO of cuStrategies LLC. As a credit union industry strategist, Celeste provides strategic planning services, experienced consulting services and expert training programs to the credit union industry. She has been involved in the credit union industry for more than 20 years and a professional speaker and trainer for more than 15 years. Celeste has a degree in business management and a certification in sales leadership strategies through the Credit Union National Association.

Patty Corkery
Patty is an attorney with Holzman Corkery, PLLC, having become a partner in 2005. She graduated from the University of Michigan-Dearborn and attended Wayne State University Law School. Her practice focuses on representing financial institutions, specializing in complex litigation and assisting clients in several areas, including contract and vendor disputes, bond claim disputes, contract negotiation, collection, recovery and employment.

Chris Gill
Chris is a risk management consultant in Credit Union Protection Risk Management for CUNA Mutual Group. In this role, he assists credit unions in identifying areas of risk in their operations and recommends appropriate controls to reduce loss exposures. He joined CUNA Mutual Group in 2012. Chris graduated from the University of Maryland with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, holds a master's of business administration from the University of Mary Washington and is a NAFCU Certified Compliance Officer.

Rayleen Pirnie
Rayleen is the founder and owner of RP Payments Risk Consulting Services, LLC., based in Missouri. She is a nationally recognized payments risk and fraud expert who offers specialized consulting services, procedural and risk management reviews and payments education. She is an Accredited ACH Professional who has worked with all payment systems for nearly 20 years. Rayleen also holds a bachelor’s of science in criminal justice administration.

Jeff Rendel
Jeff is a certified speaking professional who knows financial services. With experience as a federal banking regulator, financial services executive and Congressional lobbyist, he understands the balancing act of safety, soundness, sales and strategy. Jeff is president of Rising Above Enterprises, and works with financial services providers that want entrepreneurial results in sales, service and strategy.

Lisa Servon
Lisa is professor of city planning at the University of Pennsylvania and former dean at The New School. She is the author of The Unbanking of America: How the Middle Class Survive, along with several other books. She has contributed to the New Yorker, the Atlantic and The Wall Street Journal and has appeared on PBS News Hour, Marketplace Money and Radio Times. Her research is featured in the documentary Spent: Looking for Change.

Sarah Stevenson
Sarah is the director of Regulatory Affairs for the Michigan Credit Union League. She is responsible for reviewing proposed regulations and assessing their impact on credit unions while advocating for change at the state and federal level. Sarah has 11 years of experience in the financial industry with the majority of time spent in the credit union compliance sector. She is a CUNA certified credit union compliance expert and certified Bank Secrecy Act compliance specialist. She received a bachelor's of fine arts from Adrian College and a master’s of science in business administration from Spring Arbor University.

Amy Wargo
Amy is the compliance consulting manager with CU Solutions Group and has worked in the financial industry for over 23 years. Her expertise includes a background in compliance/internal audit implementation, operational experience in procedural development, lending and training. She is a certified in credit union compliance, vendor program management and the Bank Secrecy Act, and is a trained Six Sigma Champion. She is an experienced developer of both technical and training resources, as well as training delivery. Amy provides compliance consulting services to credit unions throughout Michigan including onsite shared staffing support and project based engagements.
