The conference will serve you with topical panels featuring key industry leaders, and provide valuable networking opportunities and face-to-face discussions with S&P Global representatives.

Following recent dovish tones and accommodative actions from major global central banks, the insurance industry’s familiar foe – low, or even negative, interest rates – looks to have regained the top spot as a key concern for insurers’ earnings and balance sheets in the coming years. While Europe’s insurers’ strong balance sheets, ERM capabilities and established market positions help them to withstand the pressure for now, this is a losing game for the industry in the long run without a normalization of rates. At the same time, the industry is on the cusp of a fundamental change to the insurance business model as technology and evolving consumer behaviours demand a re-think of the insurance value proposition. On top of these existential questions, the evolution of regulation and revolution of accounting add further demands to insurers’ already titlbusy agendas.

Against this backdrop, join us in London where we will bring together a number insurance industry executives and thought leaders to discuss these trends and implications for the future of the sector.

Topics and panels will include:
• The impact of the global macroeconomy on insurers’ performance
• Developments in IFRS 17
• Impact of technology, increasing focus on environmental, social and governance risks, and a rapidly growing protection gap present challenges but more importantly opportunities for this industry to reinforce its relevance in the global economy
