Great strides continue to be made across the US in the bid to legalize cannabis at both the medical and recreational level. In 2019 alone, the states of New Mexico, North Dakota and Hawaii have decriminalized cannabis through state legislature and Illinois became the first state to legalize the commercial sale of recreational cannabis through state legislature. Others like Oklahoma, Missouri and Utah have also made progress by approving ballot measures to legalize medical cannabis and are developing these programs now.
