A well-functioning insolvency regime is an important economical institution, particularly for an emerging economy. AInsolvency issues have become more and more decisive in the globalization of capital and nancial markets. An effective insolvency law has a direct bearing on determination of ease of doing business ranking of a country by the World Bank. An insolvency law is needed to achieve several objectives. Asset maximization is one of the key objectives
of insolvency. There are several other issues of insolvency law- cultural, nancial, legal and social- that must be balanced.

Earlier editions of the ASSOCHAM National Summit on Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code and Valuation had received an
overwhelming response from the industry, in creating a vibrant platform for an encouraging dialogue between policy
makers, regulators and industry stakeholders.

In order to continue to this dialogue, the ASSOCHAM National Council for Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code and Valuation
is organizing National Summit on Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code and Valuation with an objective to analyses the issues
and concerns in detail and also tries to chart out a way forward in terms of suggestions on the requisite changes in
regulations to extend handholding for gearing up to the needs of changing times.
