In response to rapid developments in technology, new entrants and increasing consumer expectations, we are witnessing massive disruption in the financial services sector. This has significant implications for human capital development and talent management in our industry. The emergence of new financial technologies, and digitalisation in particular, mean that employees need to develop new skillsets and competencies. Organisations will need to both upskill and reskill existing employees as well as be able to attract new talent with the right skills and capabilities into the industry. It will also necessitate a change in mindset for both employers and employees away from traditional ways of working to more flexible, digital and technology-driven approaches to work. The role of HR and talent management professionals in managing the changes required in employee mindsets, skills and competencies will be crucial to the future growth and success of the industry. The AIF International Symposium will examine what is required to future proof talent management in the digital age.
