The upcoming implementation of the EU commodity derivatives position limits regime is one of the most challenging features of MiFID II for market participants and regulators. ESMA has finalised its guidance and the industry is now implementing rules that will cover a range of commodity derivatives contracts on base and precious metals, soft commodities and energy.
Six months ahead of the full application of MiFID II, ISDA is pleased to host an event that allows a discussion between the industry and high-level officials from the European Commission, the European Parliament, ESMA and national regulators on the implementation of this entirely new regime.
This event will also provide an opportunity to compare the EU and the US approach on the regulation of commodity derivatives markets.
